Athens Intersection
The Athens Intersection Cultural Program livens up the city’s historical district with art installations and events. Athens Intersection in the context of the Commercial Triangle Revitalisation Program utilizes a series exhibitions, performances, screenings, guided tours to hidden locations and artists'studios as a part of its cultural tour to the Athens Commercial Triangle, as seen through the eyes of the artists.
Since April 2017, Athens Intersection has implemented 14 exhibitions, 30 visual art installations in store fronts and shops within 3 zones of the Athens Commercial Triangle, performances as well as the Back to Athens 6 International Festival.
The Athens Intersection Cultural Program collaborates with the Athens Municipality's Revitalization of the Athens Commercial Triangle program. Buildings such as the Old Paper Warehouse at 3 Chrysospiliotissis street, Vyssis & Agathonos street as well as Aeolou & Athenaidos after many years of neglect, have been re-opened and restored by the Athens Commercial Triangle Revitalization Program. My Odyssey estate at Vasiliki 1, 33 Praxitelous street, as well the building of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens at Vasiliki & Aeolou street, are important historical landmarks of modern Greek architecture ranging from 1860 through the 1930s to the 70s, that host the exhibition and event program of Athens Intersection.
Athens Commercial Triangle Revitalization Program
The municipality of Athens has selected part of the Commercial Triangle of Athens to implement a pilot intervention program aiming at the overall revitalization of the area. The program of the municipality is supported by an exclusive donation from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (ISN) with the coordination of the Athens Partnership.
