Matter of Matters | Andrius Mulokas
Matter of Matters is a performance project by artist Andrius Mulokas. An ongoing, mobile research project, it proposes a unique performance at each iteration. For this installment, Mulokas responds to the material stimuli of Sub Rosa Space, where he has been an artist-in-residence since May, as well as to the broader topographies of Athens's Commercial Triangle where the space is located.
In the words of Andrius Mulokas, "Materials that are already shaped with a defined purpose make me forget very fast. So I practice forgetting purposes. I work closely with materiality. This revives anew horizon of possibilities. Through the notion of play I learn the game that the matter inspires, and in the game i learn a role. I identify as the role. Some of the games include culture-matter and consequently so do some of the roles. Some of the games are ‘physics demonstrations’ that cast into roles of ‘mass’. I try to identify with the proposal of every possible role."

Since 2012, Back to Athens Festival unites the city’s artistic scene in a public showcase of contemporary art and expression that boosts social awareness and restores the residents of Athens to the City Center.
Back to Athens 6 is organized by CHEAPART in collaboration with the Athens Commercial Triangle Revitalization Program of the municipality of Athens, and Athens Intersection cultural program with the support of the Austrian Embassy in Athens, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, My Odyssey/Hellas Group, Praxitelous Bar and Vikos.
