Self-portraiture as a means of self-reference
Deeper understanding of the connection between the dipole self-society generates an expansive view on individual and collective identity, a critical element of artistic thinking. Alternative versions of the self, whether in substance or in spirit, define the diverse / fragmented social condition of urban life. The educational process explored identity through self-portraiture as a means of self-reference which gradually shifts from the individual to the outside world.
The Plastics Art Lab of the School of Architecture NTUA, presents an exhibition of works completed within the Plastic Art course, as a part of the interdisciplinary postgraduate programme "Architecture – Spatial Design".
