IN VITRO Street Museum | Yorgos Lintzeris
Yorgos Lintzeris’ project "IN VITRO" is a model of an outdoor installation. Art “takes over” outdoor advertising billboards thus creating a temporary “Street Museum”. Large scale work, with the use of clip art from the internet, and aphorisms in many different languages replace the billboard ads found on the course from Larissis railway station to Metaxourgio station.
Regarding the location – the limits of the city center, residence of foreign and local immigrants, close to the central railway station, among buildings, gas stations, garages and cheap hotels – is a significant part of the concept of the installation. The objective is to bring art closer to those who have no access to art galleries and museums. This concept is simulated within CHEAPART, a 16 meter long installation that subjectively transports the viewer to the connecting line among Larissis railway station and Metaxourgio station.
