TRAFIK | scafisti scafati
Scafisti Scafati [arta ngucaj, arben beqiraj] & Despoina Hatzigiannaki
TRAFIK is - one performance, a screening and an installation. It is a complicated project both technically as conceptually.
The artists of Scafisti Scafati are boarded on a rubber dinghy to travel from Avlona, Albania, to Bari, Italy in the context of the Biennale of Puglia. The trip will be documented by video and the footage exposed to the public. The dinghy, less than 4 meters long will carry the artists and an ark with Scafisti Scafati artwork, but also a line of people who feel uncommitted. The artwork itself will also endure this trip. The video will be displayed at CHEAPART from May 20 – 26 and in a later event, opposite the Bologna Museum of Modern Art.
After completing the Reflections at Μambo project, Bologna Museum of Modern Art) Scafisti Scafati team emerged dynamically into the art scene presenting 2 more projects, Upstream and Citypass.
It must be noted the first project Reflections was the beginning of an constructive dialogue among Scafisti Scafati (Arta – Arben) – Despina Hatzagiannaki and Μambo (Bologna Museum of Modern Art), resulting in the side of the building opposite Μambo to now functions as an open gallery of the Scafisti Scafati. The artwork that will travel unites the past with present, promoting cultural dialogue among the countries, connecting Italy – Albania – Greece.
