26 Flags - 26 Ideas | 4th European Social Forum, ESF
On the occasion of the 4th European Social Forum, 26 artists designed their own flag with individual symbols or images, waving in this process, any national symbols or political weight of the flag as we know it.
This symbolic gesture shows that in shifting from the individual, to the collective 'self', comes the formation of an overall social action. In so, anyone, regardless of political or social views, may produce something in a social context by relating to and accepting different perspectives.
The purpose is not to persuade or convince anyone to change their personal convictions, rather than to call attention to the current situations, to decipher them and coexist with one other on our short passage from this world.
